£600 for a pair of driveshafts ... Thumbs down

Are driveshafts for Gti-6 common with any other vehicles?
can an OEM driveshaft be purchased direct from manufacturer?

I have tried J&R - found the boots fly out and hit the wishbone (only took 3 shafts to work this out Roll eyes )

common with any other 2.0 or td abs 306, xsara are shorter but use the same joints, I believe the 306 based vans are also shorter.

o.e are only available from dealers, try looking up the exchange shafts.

Purveyors of cheap, badly refurbished s**te driveshafts and brake calipers. Bellends of the highest order.

Hi Neil, I'm 'in the trade' and we use a company in Brum called SHAFTEC, in fact I have 2 of their shafts on my Rallye with no problems at all, their stuff is very good quality. I've just spoken to my old mate Ian who works there so he'll be expecting your call sometime - just mention Nose. 0121 333 3555.

cheers

J&r driveshafts are brand new for the 306 they lasted me 20,000 miles of massive abuse 7k launches. They're worth it surely it's £60 for a pair?

I used them with a quaife lad and launched did 20,000 miles the only reason I took them off was because I'd blown the engine up!

Go for good second hand original shafts. I still have the original shafts not my 6 for best part of 150k 3 years of supercharged abuse and their still fine. Wouldn't touch cheap ones they last 5 mins and recon one reason usually tat other than dealer recon ones. I've got a mint spare pair from my hdi estate i broke that have done 60k. Keeping them in case but my originals are still fine.

I have replaced the boots a few yeas ago and really greased them but that's it.
