Hi people, I've changed my clutch cable today and when I took the under tray off I noticed an oil patch on the tray and a damp patch around the bottom of the gearbox/ flywheel joinSad I have recently bought the car and it had a bit of work done to it including having a reconditioned rallye gearbox and clutch ect fitted. I've been driving it for about a month and it seems fine in all gears.

I've used the search button and from what I've read it sounds like it could be a seal/ o ring that's gone maybe?Dunno I was kind of hoping it would just be the drain plug but I don't think it is. I'm also not sure weather it's engine oil or gearbox oil that's seeping out? I'm just after a bit of info really to see if anyone else has had the same problem or could advise me on what it could be before I have to take it to someone, which I don't want to do as I'd rather do it myself but I've never had a gearbox off one before.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

crank seal behind flywheel or main bearing hockey stick seals, if the box is fresh it shouldnt be leaking

Worst case internal small seals best case driveshaft seals however could be a pipe or s**t from above i realise this isnt much help but leaks are a pain in the arse to diagnose from a pic due to where it is whilst driving leeks spread everywhere
had a simular positioned leak on mine turned out i had a tiny hole in the pas pipe spraying onto the block

This is not what I wanted really and I know that what ever it is will be a pain to get changed. I might just get it booked into pug1off and have it done unless anyone knows someone on here local to me that could do it. Either way I want it doing as I don't like seeing leaks. I've got it booked into a body shop on Monday costing me about £300 which could of gone towards this leak. It's always something....

I think my car will go to pug1off for a cam belt change in the near future, already lost on engine due to the garage timing it up wrong

I have used pug1off before for a few bits and was happy with their work plus they are up the road from me. The prices aren't to bad I don't think, I'd rather it go to them than a random garage. I also need the the back end going down a notch.
