I wouldn't worry about how long it will last, the car will probably have a leak or you will will have had to replace something on the coolant circuit long before then.LOL

If you can smell it in the car will be heater matrix starting to leak.

What ever you do don't mix pink and blue coolant they can crystallise and royally f**k the block up. You can mix pink with red, blue with green. It's generally regarded that pink is the best but I could t tell you the ins and outs to be honest.

Colour has nothing to do with anything, the manufacturer dyes their coolant whatever colour they wish, it has no baring on anything. A single manufacturer may dye their 2 year coolant blue and their 5 year coolant red but it doesn't mean another manufacturer does the same.

Good info in this thread from the technical guy at millers oils

allan said always use the pink one, whether it's antifreeze, socks, tshirts, etc

take a look at long life antifeeze and see how many are any other colour than pink Unsure i can't see why they'd just dye it any colour they wish when so much long life is pink only. it can't simply be myth, there has to be a reason why most of the long life is coloured pink and the normal stuff blue (IAT etc)

OAT coolant will work if your radiator is aluminum, OAT in a copper radiator is not recommended as it dont like soldered joints Wink
