Just wondered which diesel starter motors people are using on here?

Ive seen people say the 1.9td starter. What about the 2.0hdi?

Only reason was I saw the 2.0hdi listed as 1.7kw. So should spin a high comp engine over pretty quickly?

Just for reference, I saw this starter listed as 1.7kw.

Is that the sort to buy? Although I'm assuming another search round might possibly find them cheaper? Cant remember the last time I bought a starter, so not sure what they cost..?

many of the xud starters are the same as the dw units, I think they are geared so whilst they may be higher powered the specific speed may not be as high.

id try one from a breakers first, may still spin the engine over faster than a struggling std petrol unit

I've used the 1.9td starter, jumps into life now. Much better than standard petrol one.
