Went to a peugeot dealer recently and was told that 5206 TE was now superseded with a new part no. don't have it to hand but will post it tomorrow. I ordered the part and got what appears to be monroe monotubes just a generic shock. They look nothing like the stubby originals and after fitting them to a d turbo hdi I must say I'm not happy. I'd be looking at something else if I were you. They do the job just but I wouldnt write home in excitement about them

Had the same thing going on with drive shafts tried two dealers that said new ones where no longer available and offered me some iffy third party ones tried a third and got the peugeot oe part can see the difference in the abs notches

Wow thanks for that info. Dealers eh?! Direct decendants of the horse thief,in my opinion of course;-) would be very grateful if you could let me know the name of dealership to get these shocks. All the dealerships over here have assured me they are no longer made. Thanks again,
    this is a good forum

But as welshpug said they are out there recon i have saved around 1k serching by part number never only serch by putting in gti6 etc you will pay premium every time saved 30 on rear bearings alone by serching by part number same product different discription hope this helps a little by the way halfords usually supply the part number if having trouble finding the correct one

There's even a site which gives you the part number for other manufacturers where the part is the same. I came across it last year. I will try and find it again and post it here.

I found it by accident when search for parts using the part number.

Nice one lads, learning new stuff on here all the time, sweet as...Came across car-parts24.eu on the net the other day selling eibach springs E7011-120 for 109 euro with 19 euro delivery. This should be very attractive for you guys in the UK what with exchange rates as they are at the moment. Prob works out about £85 or so. I suppose its better to keep biz in your own country but a saving is a saving! Be safe
