Have any of you guys had this problem before?
Battery light on when ignition off, then off when the key is turned one notch.

(Don't worry about the blowers bit, I'm off to try some relays and a spare panel)

either a damaged ignition switch or a short in the wiring at the front of the car around the two engine loom plugs or fan loom

So if I had pulled apart the fan connector to sort out a rusted connection and just run that one connection outside the connector... I may have a problem. Unsure That's the only thing I can think of.

another thought, if the blowers have stopped check the relay under the steering column, that might be a bit melty causing a short

Yep, had a look at that, somewhere said it was the green one furthest to the right. I was expecting/hoping to find a melty mess but no, it's perfect.

Big Connector

Smaller Connector

Fan Connector
The nasty one is the one with the wire by-passing it.

Got the multimeter on them earlier and a lot of the connections have continuity between them, but I suspect that would be the case as a lot of them come from the battery.
