Hi Gents,

So i merrily snapped up the flocked interior lighting bits that were for sale the other week, and damn they are lovely, however i've discovered that they are a different design - arse.

Mine has a big black dome thing on the left (i assume the IR remote receiver), then a grille, then the map light. This one has no IR receiver at all!?

Do i need that receiver thing? Am i right in saying it is for the key or is it something else? (i've stripped the interior so if i dont need it great! (or could i replace the map light with it?)

Cheers

Chris

errr translation?

My car is a 98 R plate (Phase 2.5 i think?) - the one i bought lacks the black dome bit - any ideas what it does and whether it can be removed or is interchangeable with the map light?

the black dome bit is the receiver for your IR (infra red) key.

The one you have bought is for the later RF (radio frequency) system.

The one on the left is for a sunroofed version, I'd be keen on that if you could find a decently priced international courier..
