Guys,

Picked up another Rallye interior today that I intend to keep as a spare/replacement fabric supply...

Rear seat covers are easy enough to take off. Anyone done it and stuck them in the washing machine?

I just got my Rallye drivers seat professionally recovered and the guy who did it for me said he removed the phoenix cloth and washed it in his washing machine before stitching on new black cloth. It came up a treat and I'm now thinking about giving him the passengers seat to wash as well. I would do it myself but too many complicated springs and metal rods to remove!....I'd be worried I wouldn't get it back together properly and loose the proper tension in the fabric.

Well, I took apart the rear seats tonight. First bits done, although I'm not impressed with the results so its going for another wash. Other bit is in now on a slightly different cycle/temp

I would have thought a decent steam clean would be a good shout, not sure if a washing machine might damage the fake leatherette style stuff?

They've come out just fine.

This is the rear seat put back together....

Looks like there are some odd marks but it must be the pic/camera as they ain't on the seat!

That's looking good. The thing I noticed with mine after it had been washed was how bright the yellow, blue & red stripes now look......fresh like it looked 16 years ago!

Yeah, the patterned bit has come out very well. I saw some of the water in the machine.....wasn't that pretty!
