When racing at Snet yesterday the EML was coming on while out on track. I've never seen it on the car before however I have just fitted a different mid and back box which is probably caused it to come on, although I'm not sure why. Car was running sweetly before hand.

  • Just fitted different exhaust (mid and back box, decat already on), no EML on old exhaust
  • When running idling in the morning, seemed to misfire every now and again (sounded like the revs dropped briefly)
  • EML came on when doing a noise test before qualifying (first time I saw it), holding the revs at ~5k RPM
  • EML would come on whenever I took my foot off the throttle to hit the brakes
  • EML was most of the time up to about 5.5k RPM
  • At a dyno test about a year ago they said the engine was running quite lean
  • Car felt down on power and a little sluggish at times

  • I think it's the lambda sensor on it's way out?

Which tool can I use? I know it's not OBD2 compliant but not sure what I can use instead?

To follow up to this, I took it to the local garage who scanned it on their Snap-on machine and it came back with ignition circuit 1 fault. I thought that was likely to be the coilpack so changed for a spare but the light is still coming on. Not had chance to take it back yet but behaviour of the light is still the same.
