Hi folks,

I have AP Racing CP3307 calipers on my Rallye which need new pads. From looking online it appears only EBC make a pad to fit, however I've found them to be quite quick wearing. Does anyone know if any other manufacturers make pads for these calipers and where I can get them?

Also, I have found that as the pads wears down, the collar on the edge of the pad strikes the bolts on the bell.

I've trimmed this down but I'm still finding it rubs on occasion. Is there any other solution to trimming the pad down, new rotors maybe?

Thanks in advance.

Graham

I'd see if there's room to space the caliper out a little.

as for the pads there's a few different patterns AP use but more are of generic old cars and fairly widely used, get a proper profile picture and dimensions of the bad backing and have a browse the various online cataogues, I know the smaller AP and Wilwood calipers used a pad shape form an old AP lockheed 2 pot off something like a Volvo 240 amongst other randoms Big grin

dumping the pad part number into KAM racing gave me a CL brake pad which you can get in any of their friction materials, can also be bought in 17 or 20mm material thickness.

Ferodo code for that shape is http://ecat.ferodoracing.com/car-racing/brake-pads/FRP216

and the thicker variant is

http://ecat.ferodoracing.com/car-racing/brake-pads/FRP212

seems form the cross reference list by ferodo they're an Aston Martin V12 rear brake pad, a Subaru Impreza Group N factory front brake setup, a Renault CLio S1600 front brake, Also the same shape as an ALCON brake caliper.

the thicker pad is used on the front of a C6 corvette, and also a Lotus Carlton LOL

Brilliant, thanks for this Welshy. I'll see what I can get from Ferodo.

Regarding spacing the caliper out, the caliper is mounted direct to the hub so I'm not sure how this would work? Don't think I've got the space to move them out much tbh.

ah, they're Lug mounted not radial with a bracket?

if there's enough meat then the mounting lug holes could be plugged and drilled further away from the caliper, to mount the caliper further out a little.

FAO anyone in the know, am I really looking at £60-£70 for a set of brake pads? If so I'll bite the bullet and pay up but all of the pads I am coming across are aimed at track cars. I am looking for a set of standard pads for road use really. Seeing as I have went through a set in a year I'd rather avoid this annual expense if possible LOL

Pad dimensions are 132.4mm x 56.0mm x 17.0mm

AP Racing caliper reference is CP3307 with a pad reference of CP3215

Any help appreciated as always Thumbs up

No probs. I have never used the M1144's before but they are a very popular compound for the standard callipers on the 6/rallye and loads will sing their praises on here. Certainly worth a crack at that price id say, should be perfect for what you want to use them for Yes

Id be tempted to trim the collar off them properly when fitting too if required.

Yeah, I will check they fit first and if they do I'll file the collar off completely. Probably a bit cheaper than buying new bells for the rotars!
