Done a bit of reading of old posts and some people really like the hybrid vars some people dont like them, some people say the 30mm bar is the one to go for, some say no good unless on a track. What are peoples thoughts? Ive got a rebuilt beam with 31mm tbs and a b8 set up so which rear arb is going to be the one i should go for? Its a daily but i want as much performance as i can handle as i want her to see some track time

Cheers

Sure he does.
I have a 1" Arb which works well but you should be okay going up to the hybrid one. I wouldn't personally but it'll still drive well.

Yea 21mm tbs sorry Smile ive heard mixed reviews about the hybrid. Im wondering about a 30mm? Would it be too much for the road?

Personally, I'd stick with the std arb with 21mm torsion bars.

A 30mm arb is only really best suited to thicker torsion bars imho

A 27mm arb is a pipe dream hey Andy Smile unless we could get a company to do us a discount on 3 bars?

Would be 4 bars if Orta is stil interested in 1? If we could get 5 bars wanted then surely we could get a decent price?

Im in the same boat as you. Dont really know the pro's and con's of each of the different size bars. Pretty sure i will want minimum 21mm tb's. Not sure about arb.

Well i would be willing to get a 27 arb to go with my 21mm tbs to ee how it went. Andy expressed an interest in 2 bars and Orta said he would take a 27 if thats what available so 5 in total if you wanted one. Surely torsion performance etc would do is a decent discount for 5 bars?

Danny, did you you ever go out in Gary's? That handle very well for a fast road car. It's had Bilstein B8 shocks on H&R springs, Bilstein 205 group A rear dampers, 23.5mm torsion bars with a hybrid Arb. She cornered very well.

I have 23.5mm TBs and hybrid ARB on the race car and it handles brilliantly. Tempted to try a 30mm ARB at some point though

Well im prepared to do the phonecalls etc to see what price i can get on a batch of 27s if people are interested? Unless anyone on the forum has more pull with a company that would enable us to get a better price that is? If Niall is interested that could be 6 people once ive spoken with Andy. If we can get 10 im sure we could get a good price

IIRC when CWSpellowe did a group buy years ago, torsion performance were charging about £150 for a ARB. I may be wrong though

Ash's engineers were prepared to do 30mm bars at 140 a bar (then delivery) so maybe 130 a bar for 27mm could be achieved if i were to ask Ash to speak to them? A new hybrid is 187 plus delivery from spoox so i would pay 130 for a new item if we could get it for that price

I'm using 21mm TBs with a hybrid arb. I keep the standard beam mounts though.
Handles very predictably and you have oversteer on tap when needed (usually when i've gone in too fast...)

Mine isn't about straight out speed, more about predictable fun on a 80% road car that can wallop down bumpy B roads without loosing too much traction.

Not entirely sure yet. As said, its price dependant so not going to 100% commit just yet. Keep me updated as to group buy prices though Thumbs up

Just an update guys, Ash has contacted his engineer for me and they have said that if 10 people want a 27mm bar then we can have them for 135 a bar plus postage. If we only want 6 bars then its 150 a bar plus postage. Im stil waiting on prices from torsion performance but was wondering what peoples thoughts were on these prices?
