Well guys im changing the engine and gearbox on my 6 along with many other parts but im wondering what are the best fluids i should be using? I will be changing engine oil gearbox oil coolant and brake fluid. It will be my daily but hopefully will see some track time. Ive done a search on oil but only 1 page came up and couldnt really get a definitive answer. So basically what should i be using? Give me brands and grades people Cheers Dave |

Motul Sport 5W50 I use in my car, although i've been using 5W40 Total Quartz 4k until recently. Always fully synth.Total 85/90 (think it is) only for the gearbox - its very sensitive I'm using Motul 5.1 brake fluid but have used ATE superblue before too. Only use original or Purflex (iirc) oil filters ________________________________________ Nothing to see here |

I use Shell helix ultra and the engine seems to love it. And if you get it from Opie, you get a free 1l top up bottle in a nice bag to go in the car with a top up kit. Oh and a Opie oils air freshener so its a win! lol |

difference of use too, mine is just a "cheap" road car, adam's is a track/rally car build wont see any difference of opinion on the gear oil. ________________________________________ need a part number? get on here - http://public.servicebox.peugeot.comBring on the Trumpets. |

From the website nielsencdg the recommended Total Quartz 9000 is just over 20 pounds for a 5L bottle, which makes it cheaper than most other good quality oils, so I see no reason not to just use that rather than bothering with anything else.http://www.nielsencdg.co.uk/cgi-bin/sh000090.pl?WD=total%209000&PN=Total-Quartz-9000-5w-40-Synthetic-Engine-Oil-148650-5L-TOT_148650%2ehtml#SID=1077 ________________________________________ 61k miles Ph.1 Diablo '6 Project Thread |
