As the title says, Magnex or scorpion, which would you choose?

I'm looking to replace my Powerflow system and there is both a Magnex and a Scorpion system available at the minute....Magnex is a 4"tailpipe version, MOT sure if it's an old or new style centre section Scorpion system, have asked the seller.

I know the Peugeot Sport system is pretty much a Magnex but scorpoions seem to have a good rep too, once the centre section issue was sorted.

Magnex with a 4"tip looks a bit much IMO.
Scorpion with either an OE centre section or for nicer burbles straight through centre with cat will sound good assuming the rest of your system is sealed properly etc.

If you've leaks around the cat virtually everything just sounds loud and farty.

Scorpion is way louder than standard.

How many holes did your standard system have in it? Laugh my ass off

I've a Scorpion backbox which has been poorly fitted to a not very old OE middle section and it sounds nice when it's not blowing.

Changing it for a complete 3" Magnex system. If it's too much I will change it.

As above I had a scorpion backbox on an OE centre section which sounded nice, and now I have a stainless centre section with no centre box and it isn't much louder but sounds nicer and burbles just a touch on coast down.

I have a scorpion backbox and standard centre on one car sounds nice not over the top. Little bit louder than standard. The other car I have full scorpion system with newer style boxes is loud but not as anti social as a magnex.
Can get you videos of both if you want?

my pug sport system was magnex 3" with grp-a downpipe and backbox. had scorpion imola systems in the past and preferrred the fitment and noise of the magnex every time. plus it's 3" so slightly more oe than the 3.5" scorpion

that said, the magnex in the first post relates to the 4" one, which is way too big imo

that's only the tailpipe though, the rest is identical.

the pugsport item was similar pipe and boxes with skids added and a 2.5" tailpipe.

I got a nice 3" Magnex system and it sounds lovely. Not too loud. Much quieter than the Longlife it replaced.

Scorpion resonates badly at 40mph, particularly under load like up inclines, and at 70+, at these speeds it is very boomy at constant speed.

At 30mph and 50mph constant speed it is very quiet. Idle is fairly deep and significantly louder than standard but not ridiculous.

Not great for motorway but great everywhere else. Tailpipe is massive though!
