Guys,

Anyone used a rotisserie for a 306??

It's looking increasingly likely that I'm going full on resto on the underside of my Rallye. Haven't the room nor inclination to lie on my back under the car on the drive so looking at a rotisserie. Look like it will do exactly what I need in terms of giving easy access to the underside. I know I'll have to take the engine out for that but that will be a good learn for me....

Any advice/recommendations??

Mate to use that you'll have to totally strip it out to do that, so full strip down to get the weight down Smile

Had to google that, wasn't sure what they were called but I've seen them before. is there a reason for taking the engine out of it?

Thought you would drain it out first.

You could, but it's gonna be too heavy for the rig really.

Plus if I'm going to do it, I'll want to do the engine bay too....

True. It will be a good experience doing an engine removal too if you've never done one before.

Not sure how much a 306 would like being barbequed?

read about your project ,wouldn't be easy jacking car up with wheels left on and putting on trench block under each wheel and tyre , would give plenty of height to get under with crawler so not lying on cold floor ,seen as you've done under arches

If your going to go that far to strip it wouldn't it be easier to get it dipped ? When i used to do up minis we just braced them up and rolled them onto a old mattress . Mind you i doesn't take much to strip a mini
