Afternoon Guys,

Had a GTI6 delivered to me the other night, needs some work, but in the dark it looked ok.

Is a P2 1998 'R', non-sunny.
Going by the online MOT checker, it's done about 138K

'Apparently' it's got fast road cams, but loads of people claim that when selling something.

Has Spax, strut brace, D shape steering wheel.
In honesty, it was cheap and I've not even looked at it in the light.

Not sure whether it's a breaker or a fixer though.

Need to get to the weekend so I have some light and time, get my head in it and see what's going on.

At the moment it doesn't drive, there is a problem with the gearbox, but could be something like a linkage (here's hoping). Also has a smashed drivers window, will get that fixed in the next couple of days.

Pics to follow at the weekend, thanks, Michael

Will see how bad this Gearbox issue is, am hoping it's easy, but worst case it'll be box and associated parts.

Seats looked mint, no rips/tears
P1/Rallye style top glovebox too

Not exactly expensive to put that right dan. Cyclones cost f**k all, get them powder coated and buy some PS3's from Camskill Big grin

If it's simple fixes and not in terrible condition then save it. I've saved at least 3 or 4 now. Most just get broken.... However the more get broken the rarer mine becomes.

Have replaced the smashed drivers window. Then thought I'd check the rest out.

Now know why it ha le no drive. At first it looked like a broken pass driveshaft. Open the bonnet to see the engine hanging awkwardly. The gearbox mount had been taken out.

The stud on top of the gearbox has snapped. So I need a new box, plus a pass shaft.

Debating on what it's gonna cost and is it worth it
