Long story short I need to find what color a 306 is but only have the reg, its faded badly so can't tell what blue it is.

I tried putting the reg into confused.com but it just came up as blue.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Back the passenger strut under the bonnet is usually where the code is located

Either that or like mine the code is on a label when you open the drivers side door.

I don't have access to the car mate. Basically its in a scrappers and I've bought the bonnet off it,I can't decide if its the right colour though,in some lights it looks perfect and in some lights in looks sigma,I don't have time to polish it up right now to find out sadly.

if it's sigma it'll most likely be a phase1 bonnet and you'll know a mile off cos of the bonnet shape. barely any p2/p3 sigma's, i would imagine single digits. i know of one though, imported from somewhere

p2 china blue is a different blue to p3 china blue though. learned this when rebuilding my china 6 after a front end writeoff

my guess is you've got a p2 one...

That doesn't look a bad match, I find China with a good clay then DA or mop to be a very good color for panels matching providing it's all original paint

I'm hoping they'll match after some work I just didn't want to do it if the bonnet was a completely different color.

Try polishing the wings up, or maybe the car it came off had some paint work done on the front, it's only just out by look of it, is it worse in the flesh?

Phone a peugeot dealer. They'll give you the colour from the reg.

china is a nightmare because it's pearlescent. firstly i stuck a china bonnet on, but turns out it was off a phase2, so colour was out. then i had my wing sprayed in china, with a good known p3 original china bonnet, and i could tell the difference. i ended up buying a second hand wing, which had never had paint, off allanallen on here. was fine after that

In theory should a Y reg car be a phase 3? I'll call the dealership now and see if they can get me a paint code from the reg, were the Phase 2 and 3 china paint codes different or did they decide to be little french tosspots about it and keep them the same.

Certain colours are more prone to this. Whites/silvers/and pearl colours can be a right pain to match. On smaller jobs it's sometimes just easier to blend into the next panel.
I'm sure you new this already, though, just for the masses.

Never ever seen a china phase 2 if I'm honest. Nor even heard of one.

The common phase 2 blue was Nile as far as I know.

Looks like a phase 3 bonnet from the pic.

I wonder if MOGE and EGED are one and the same or not. I suspect not and I will be selling this bonnet on.
