Anyone else find it as boring as I did? Got to admit, scenery in Argentina is stunning.

I backpacked down to Ushuia in 2002. Show wasn't that exciting bar the trip down memory lane. Still regret not going to Antarctica. Although back then I thought I would travel tons. Since then I've hardly been out the UK. On my bucket list.
Fwiw you can buy the trip to Antarctica locally for less than half the price.

Ending was a bit dramatic though, i thought it was all publicity hype when it first made the news, but the footage looked real enough. Yep the scenery was fantastic.
What a waste of 3 perfectly good cars!.

That lotus was gorgeous, one of my dream garage cars. I'm a video producer by trade and have worked with several of the crew before, it was obvious speaking to people in the industry when it all happened that it wasn't the usual publicity stunt, the budget on the show is huge but you don't leave that much money sat at the side of the road without good reason.

That did look a bit terrifying. Can't really understand why they were so riled up though. Can't see an issue with British filming out there and the licence plate wasn't really that bad.

My son's 16 and thinks Clarkson should run the uk lol he loves him - not in THAT way though............well at least i hope not!

Whether or not anyone in the UK thought the plate was in good taste or deliberate is irrelevant: the Argentinians clearly thought that it was deliberate. Knowing Top Gear like we all do, that is exactly the kind of not-so-subtle 'hidden' joke that they play and have used in the past. I personally couldn't care less whether or not it was deliberate but it isn't remotely surprising that they riled some people in a town that built a warship that was sunk in a recent (living memory) war...

Did those Argentinians overreact? In my opinion, yes.
Is it understandable that they were a little riled? Yes.
Are they representative of Argentinian opinion in general? Probabaly not.

I'm sure the production/research team will learn from the incident.

Well said Tom. When I was in the Army we visited Mexico for some r+r and met plenty of Argies who we're nice as pie. Unfortunately some of our guys acted like pricks towards them which didn't help.

Can't judge any books by the cover or one persons review, every country and race has its morons and that's putting it politely, I think there's more pricks in Britain than there is decent folk

As above. I've been there and they were great hosts.

We even went to a Boca v River game. They had a las malvinas thing on the pitch before kick off. That was totally unexpected. Now I got away being Scottish. But couple of the guys were English and we'd be chatting in English. Yet we got no trouble. There were some pointing and waving fingers. But considering 2 fans died because of a shoot out between fans. We were well looked after. Fans told us to get away from ground because it was dangerous

Down in Patagonia they were great too

Only just caught this today. Was disappointed tbh. The ending however was mental. For the crap those boys have done in the arse end of the world and never had anything like this. Yet they visit a supposedly half way development nation and they get this s**t. It's crazy scary. There's a difference between patriotism and nationalism. The latter was very popular in German in the 30s and its a scary thought!!
