Just wondered what a fair price for a set of 4 c5 steels would be? I've seen a set for 120 quid and another set for 140 quid? Thoughts people?

Cheers

Yeah if folk know what they r and why u r buying them they'll rip u off. I've seen painted ones for £200+ it's a joke! As above post says search scrappies and you'll find a set for peanuts. I got sum brand new never been used gloss black steelies for £80! Bargain!

You're on about the light alloy C5's? Rather than conventional steel wheels?

Yes.

Identifiable by 16 holes and being thick alloy and weighing F all when you lift one.

They did 2 types. Early ones had issues with the bolt holes being weak. There are differing serial numbers.

They use a tapered bolt with a spinning washer, so it's worth remembering to pick them up at the yard to save sourcing some.

Northumberland and Co. Durham roads killed my C5's.... they're probably far better suited to track or tyres with a healthy side wall

I've just tried to knock mine back into shape for winter... all four are scrap, effectively. I'll put money on them lasting a few months with 50 profiles... might do better with 55's

Well once I've bought some tyres and fitted the wheels in the new year and done some mileage I will report back. If Welshys have lasted that long and the roads in Wales are cap lol surely mine should last a little longer

Some of them aren't the best but I tend not to drive through potholes or over kerbs blindly tbh so any wheel will last fine.

I've run 195 50 michelins on all my sets, PE2's and Alpin A3's.
