After your help guys.

Since the weather turned a tad colder the Rallye has developed a flat spot/lack of power between 3 and 3.5K rpm on a steady throttle. This only happens when cold for the first couple of miles and if more throttle is given at this point it will go ok.

Also seems to be running very rich when first started, lots of petrol smell from the exhaust when maneuvering before setting off.

These symptoms have become apparent simultaneously. I'm guessing Lambda sensor but what do you think?

Oh yeah, car is up to date service wise.

Get it pluged in see if its picking up any errors

Possible ecu temp sensor. Or have had fuel pump relays give simular syptoms

Had I similar problem with my old 8v xsi which turned out to be the lambda sensor
