So, after getting the Rallye back to roadworthy condition I have.a very curious problem....

I will be driving around and the car will suddenly lose all engine power over a couple of seconds then die. No matter what you do with the throttle, the revs will drop until stall. The radio and dash electrics function fine so its not as if theres a mains power issue. If I dip the clutch and move key to 'off' and then back round to 'start' the car will fire immediately!!

Now I've replaced MAP, CAS, TPS and Fuel pump relay with (seemingly good) used units and CTS and Lambda with brand new items. It has had a recent fuel filter. I thought it may be a fuel pump issue but the fact that the car fires first time on restart without need for lines to prime made me discount that.

There seems to be no discernable pattern to the cutting out. Worth noting is that the car is quite 'binary' on transition throttle. By that I mean that when the throttle is set to a cruise setting, any lift of the pedal results in marked engine deceleration.

Im starting to run out of ideas on this one TBH...

Any suggestions???

The ICV can also cause this.
It often comes along with a rough idle but I had another 306 which started cutting out when dipping the clutch at low speed or letting the revs fall suddenly to idle, it then later started to idle poorly etc.

If you were closer I'd let you come and test with my spare one in case it made a difference as they are pretty pricey. I have just bought a new one for peace of mind in the last few months.
