Hi all, got a new plug and washer for the gearbox from Peugeot the other day and the plug is coated in some blue waxy type substance

Surely this coating needs to be removed?
If so what should I use to get it off? Petrol?

That's what I assumed it was, just mega generously applied! The entire bolt is covered in the stuff, I decided to clean the bolt and put some fresh stuff on Thumbs up
