Granted its broken at the moment but I don't see why everyone rages against this forum so much. I think it's fit for purpose! There's folk on hand to help with technical bits, an FAQ section that hasn't let me down so far and ample bits and bobs to pick up from the for sale section.

Its fine for info (there are problems, but you'll work them out). Joking and gags have took a nose dive though.

No disrespect but you may not have witnessed what been going on for the last couple of years.

People are not listened to.

The owner doesn't give a hoot about what people want.

Topics get archived after a set period and info gets lost.

It's not stable.

FAQ's are visible to anyone regardless of whether they have paid or are even a member/logged in.

The admin team will have a shock and no doubt it will either give them a kick up the arse to sort it and compete or it will just continue to get quieter and quieter. The forums activity level is a fraction of what it was 18 months ago. Until a week ago we had to make do, but now there's a competitor - may the best man win.

Even useful threads get deleted. There really is no need for it. 306oc does better and is free. 306gti6 owner ash isnt really about, and admin duties are left pretty much solely to Stan. 306oc forum owner is an active member and keeps a solid admin team. In fact, I went for a beer with him and a few friends last week and we all took our 6's for an evening drive.

Besides, its all about the gti7.club now Wink

"The admin team will have a shock"...LOL

Of course, because we as Admin sit worrying about this forum all day.
    It's laughable.

Personally, I've always tried to do my upmost best for everybody on here within the limits I have to operate within. However, judging by how quick people have slagged this forum off today over an issue whereby the forum isn't operating correctly is shocking.

It's not a wonder there is less Admin presence on here lately - it's hardly difficult to work out.

Nope, I'll be here until the forum eventually shuts its doors, but despite the recent issues and the new 'competition' I think it's still got a few years left yet. Smile

You're not the admin team Stan. You're a moderator.

I was referring to the directors of the company.

Okay, well let's clear a few things up.

By no means do I consider this to be "competition" or an "alternative", there'll be no taking sides and we're all adults. The catalyst was that my membership is up in a few weeks, and I thought it'd be a shame to lose contact with a number of people on here I've been chatting to for years. Already we've had users sign up who were active users on here in the past but who quite rightly didn't see the point in paying.

I know every time it comes up you (Stan) think people are arguing about the money, but they're not; no-one cares about the money. People just want to feel they're getting some kind of value or community, and neither are taken from here anymore.

The site still doesn't work properly on mobile. You can't embed YouTube videos. You're not even allowed to swear FFS, we're all treated like children. There's no SSL option. You can't have an avatar of more than 1 bit in size, notifications haven't worked in months.

Jeffers is an admin - in relation to the notifications issue he said "I'm currently trying to get hold of the Captain to look at some issues, please bear with us" - that was on the 22nd of May. Three months later, not even a reply. Ash hasn't posted on here since April. I wouldn't blame him if he's just sat at home p**sing himself at us and yourself Stan, as he takes in the money and you take all the abuse.

Remember when the forum just turned off for a couple of months without warning as all the data was moved about? Remember how that was deemed acceptable, then we weren't allowed back on until we paid? The only reason I'm still a member now is because I decided to do my bit and pay the £20 membership, which ended up getting split into a four-year stint.

Stan, you're more than welcome to come join and we can carry on bike chat and general abuse and everyone can have a good time. You don't have to abandon this place, you can stand atop the last splinters of shattered, sinking ship if you like, just don't not join on some kind of childish principle. It'd be good to have you.

But I sure as hell am not paying more money into Ash's pocket when he's clearly moved on with his life and has only ever treated my like a total cnut no matter how much I've tried to help.

Everyone is welcome. That's all I'll say on the matter.

I don't think anyone here is trying to bash you Stan.

It just seems you are the only one here who does a damn thing to rectify problems. Should more moderators not be recruited?
