I'm asking on behalf of a mate, he has a ph3 with ebd and unplugged the wiring loom to the pump after fitting some 6 pots.
He took it out for a spin and I think it locked up the NSF wheel and caused the caliper to stay on.
He managed to limp home and reconnect the wiring loom but now I believe both front brakes are sticking on a bit.

Any suggestions for an easy fix for this? I've not been to see the car yet but I'm assuming a simple fluid bleed won't fully cure it?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah it does strike me as odd.
I imagined that the ebd would just function as normal again once plugged back in. Hmm

Yeah this isn't the pump. Sounds like sticking pistons.
If you unplug the pump, it will just allow fluid to flow through the open plungers.

That's what I thought, I've got him to open the bleed nipples to release any possible pressure left in there and they are still clamping the disc.

May have to put the standard calipers back on at this rate, we're leaving for the Nurburgring Thursday morning and I'm going to struggle to get over to his house before tomorrow night Sad

if there's no pressure its probably paint on the pad backing binding in the caliper or on the pins.

p.s, I'd recommend him keeping the EBD plugged in unless he adds a load compensator or re-plumbs for a bias valve.

the ring is the last place I'd be running dodgy brakes!

Yeah, i'm heading over tomorrow evening to try and get the pads out, fettle them and re-fit them. All being well we'll be sorted after that, and the EBD will be left plugged in until we return and i sort him out with new lines and a bias valve.

Thanks for your input guys. Thumbs up

Tbh the EBD is very good on 306s. Not very intrusive at all but the ABS on ph1 and 2 was far from great and just comes on for fun. Id keep it all there for now!
