Got a full set of these on the track car. Gotta say i find them pretty good, the car is solid but it does have hybrid ARB and roller bearing wishbones to help it.

Good to hear!
What improvements did the hybrid ARB and roller bearing wishbones make?

Drive out around monmouth last week confirms they are very good, especially considering they were a third the cost of B6's...

Prescott in the rain tomorrow. No worries!

Its solid mate. I have a full set of the standard KYB gas shocks on my road car which are good, but the SR's are so much firmer.

Sorry, I meanst to say, I'm not really sure, as I got mates rates... Probably half the cost of Billies and at least 75% as good... at a guess.

Just spoke to my mate at my local motor factors who sell the kyb range and the front shocks he said are 55 each plus vat and rears are 42 each plus vat, he also said he can't get hold of the rears yet as kyb have no stock. Is this a decent price do you think?

Yep have tried these, good enough product with standard springs imo but I wouldn't be bothered if planning to use with something like the eibachs, I had them in a dturbo hdi (same chassis set up,including front springs as the rallye). I tried with both the original 5002p7 springs and the eibachs. Good with the standard stuff with good control of rebound but found them to be well under par with the eibachs (30mm). I would stretch for the b8's if using good lowering springs. You should be aware that the ultra sr has a longer stroke than the standard gti 6 5208 N2/N3 front shocks approx 1.5 inches. If going for KYB for road use save a few more quid and go for the excel G's

Excel G's? Not head of them before? I'm about to buy new front shocks for mine, want standard height so thought the KYBs and KYB springs would be ok.

Well I'll be going for fast road use and using xsara vts or eibachs springs with 21mm tbs and hybrid arb in the rear.

What's the difference between the Excel G's and Ultra SR?
