Well it's had a good life , it's not been in a hedge, plus to make it nice and usable it needs a lot of money spending on it. Plus sadly as always it's worth more in bits.

Only true for a limited time, give it 10 years and it'll be worth s**t loads as it is! What happened to the original cossie running gear?

What happened to the rest of the setup that the last owner had, I remember following the thread when he was buying bits for it.

He had plenty of nice bits for it, must have spent insane amounts of money

The guy who bought the car from me spent about £40k on the engine alone and I just couldn't afford to buy the engine so just bought back what I could.

That is a lot for an engine, especially for a hobby!

Lovely donor car, as others have said it would be a shame to break it but cosworth-powered conversions have got to come from somewhere...

You say that - but based on what Carl suggests he paid for it, he'll sell the remainder and it'll effectively cost him nothing but the time.

By the time I use what I need I have been offered £1000 for the shell so things like the leather, front diff (I have an uprated one), rear suspension (I am using wrc uprights) etc etc will be sold, like said above I think the bits I need will cost me in the region of about £1500-£2000

Makes me a cheap er Dunno 106 full wrc spec carbon fibre toy? That's will owe me less than it did previously with a better spec and a better paint job, it's something that will take a while though I am sure.

People stating its a waste of a sierra are more than welcome to view the car, it was at its price as it's in need of welding, front bumper, tax, mot, brakes, fuel lines, brake lines, fuel tank and that's what I could see when viewing it.Shock

On the flip side it makes the good ones worth more money and parts off this will keep those going.

    One of these-

    And one of these-

    Gets it started-

A quick wash down and we have a clean engine, also found out the alternator is fubar-

Not saying it's a waste, mental 106s are rarely a waste! I just always find it sad when a once lovely car has to die, that doesn't mean that it isn't necessary or a good idea.
Looking forward to seeing this project coming together.
