Morning all,

I am in the process of adding some finishing touches to my newly rebuilt engine and would like to add a lick of paint to the sump Yes How do people go about this? Clean it first (it's already pretty clean) and then key it with some sandpaper before painting with ceramic high temp paint?

Cheers Thumbs up

Think you need to use some acid etch primer when painting ally otherwise the paint doesn't stick.

Cool. So no need to key the surface then, just spray on the acid etch and then top coat?

It's clean and bare at the moment and it doesnt look all that to be honest. I have a tarty colour scheme in mind for the engine so it will sit nicely in the bay. As i have it out i may as well give it some tlc, i know a lot wont see the sump but i want everything to sparkle once im done Smile
