My steering column is knackered and has been for a long time. Got the loose up and down feeling and feels very disconnected especially on the motorway. Does anyone know how much the top half is new from Pug? I know just for the lower shaft its £185.

I've toyed with the idea of trying a second hand one but realistically any used replacement is probably going to be as worn out as the one I'm replacing.

Chris.

its not that common to find excessive wear in them, my zx's had no play and they're a few years older than the oldest 306.

I have actually got a spare I got off a 306 estate from the scrappy a few months ago for a score. Partly to practice the procedure.

I'm just reluctant to bother swapping them considering the mileage of that vehicle was a mystery and that one could feel just as poor as the one i'm replacing.

Mine has done 141k and no play whatsoever, no 306 I have had has had any play.
