So the centre pipe on my exhaust melted through my fuel tank at FCS Roll eyes , and luckily I didn't catch fire!

Save jubilee clipping the exhaust to the side, or repositioning the hangars this is going to be a constant problem by the looks of things.

My thoughts are to ignore the exhaust, and stick a metal fuel cell in the back of the car, a mate is a welder and confident he can make one, or should I buy professional? Or perhaps just reroute the exhaust?

What would you guys do?

I'd sort the exhaust out as it sounds like it's not on the car right ?

replace the tank and make sure the heat shield is present.

if its the correct exhaust and undamaged, and fitted correctly it should not be an issue.

Heat shield is pretty ruined now tbh. Anyone got one sitting about? Will inspect exhaust thoroughly, and see what the crack is.

I will admit that I myself fitted a decat on thursday.. I did check though, and it seemed fine.

Thanks for the input Thumbs up

Get your mate to knock up a new thin stainless one. It wont be hard if he's got rollers.

Provided the exhaust is correct for the car and fitted correctly with a good condition heat shield there will be no issue. No need to go making fuel cells, just fit things as they are meant to be. Yes

The decat makes the whole system shorter iirc - it probably started rubbing somewhere because of that.

Rather glad you didn't burn the car out! Shock LOL
