The 6 starts amazing now Thumbs up

Well I fitted NGK BKR6EZ & took out
Some strange looking & unknown plugs ?

The BKR6EK is almost the same spark plug as the BKR6EZ.
The EK has 2 elektrodes instead of 1.
The BKR5EZ/EK is the wrong spark plug, this plug is too warm and can cause pinking.

Just FYI, the BKR6EK plug is listed on loads of stuff on ECP, if you search for 408110050 it'll get you to the right plug.

The BKR5EK or EZ is listed in the NGK catalog as the right spark plug for the xu10j4rs engine however this spark plug has a heat range which is too high, as result engine damage may occur, the BKR6EK or EZ is the right spark plug.

The correct plug is the NGK BKR6EK.

I don't know if it makes any difference if the spark plug has one or two electrodes, so the BKR6EZ may also be correct.

After the posts ..I today rang NGK & was told both 6 heat range but EZ doesn't have v shape inside ???? & is for 2.0 stnd not Gti6 ...they said twin electrode is for reliability & has no more performance gains.!!!
That's what they said Big grin
So now changed mine to BKR6EK ...but a worry was he kept saying Iridium plugs are for track days & are better ???
Non of the race guys I know use them ?....but there again some strip down the engines after 3 meets LOL

indeed no need for wasting your hard earned on Iridium plugs, I guess Di and Turbo engines might benefit from them, but I know Sandy brown uses and recommends just a standard NGK plug, 7 range if its higher compression than standard.

Iridium plugs have a only a longer life than a normal spark plug, but they cost more.
There is no increase in engine power.
