Hi all, bought the Pas relocation kit and have been fitting it today but a i am struggling to fit a 6PK 1140 belt on it. Rich told me to use a 1138-1145, but i think even an 1145 will still be too short.
I am using the standard tensioner for Gti6, but even pulling it back to its maximum movement, i am still short by about 10mm at least!.
I followed the instructions that came with the kit so everything is in place, i saw someone else here on the forum used an 1103?.
Anyone fitted one?.

Yeah i read previously an 1103 fitted but somehow mine needs way more, tried routing the belt in different ways (although there aren't many) but still can't do it.

Yep Cully, that's the way i did it. I even locked the tensioner against the spring tension using an allen key. Removed the tensioner, routed the belt and fitted the tensioner with one bolt acting like a pivot. Then tried to swing the tensioner round to lign up the other bolt.
Well tried and tried until the square hole gave up shattered.
So now i need a new one and another belt.
Just wondering whether your crankshaft pulley is a smaller diameter, mine is the rubber damped one.

I did the same thing with my tensioner years ago, could have sworn the belt was too small but i think it may have been something to do with the tensioner in the end as managed to fit it with no probs when i swapped it Yes

my crank pulley is a rubber damped one too

the top idler the one you remove is a smaller diameter, you could use that roller and fit it to the auto tensioner as that pulley is a larger diameter.
i did look at doing that as the 1103 is tight but didn't in the end

if i were to do it again i would buy a longer belt though Wink

Thanks for your help Cully, will see if i can get the parts today and try again. I too swapped over the smaller idler wheel, but this was after the tensioner broke, in a vain attempt to at least get the belt on and have the car running again.
