Been to mike evans Motorsport / Shropshire automotive today to clean up the map on the omex
After rebalancing the bodies it Started 184 with a poor map fuelling all over the place and ending up with a useable map (going back in a month or so once its had a shakedown and a half)
Mods... Jenvey 45's 90mm trumpets 100cell sportscat stainless scorpion with only backbox

Final power figure

223nm is about 164lbft so sounds right..

Looks decent results although seems more and more bodies are now hitting around 200 whereas before everyone believes 180-185 on only bodies was about right

I'm not really bothered about the horsepower tbh wp... I was aiming for torque as torque turns wheels unless ur a Honda, just shocked me how rejigging the fuelling made such a difference!!! Every Rr is different I know that

there's still a few flatspots in the fueling which will be sorted next month but glad it's drivable now Smile

Its been 3 1/2 yrs off the road and I'm glad the time has come to get it running again

Standing next to it on the rollers and it hit its peak really hurts your chest LOL

Are the figures improved by undertaking the test without a bumper? If so I'd have emptied the washer bottle too.

That graph looks like take the dog for a walk like I used to do at school nearly 30 years ago.

I assume you sent the bodies back to jenvey to get sorted ? If you move the filter backing plate to the front of the trumpets you will improve air flow ? I do air flow for a living now so have a pretty good understanding of what and why air does what under different circumstances

It wasn't rebalancing in the word of rebalancing the needles cyl 3+4's bank was slightly out of adjustment so after a little tweek on the linkage it ticked over perfectly, as stated this isn't the final map, the fuelling is far from right but as the engines not run in yet from being stood we wanted a map that could be driven on.... The old map was a waste of time and had spikes and pulses all over the place prob would've det'd itself within he first week, once the I'm happy with the lump ill be taking it back there prob using my new backing plate and filter aswell... Then company work closely with Jenvey on development so I'm happy to take it there to finish the job

225 hp at 7500rpm is very nice,
can't gain more power without replacing internal parts for higher rpm ?

It looks more like 200bhp and 215nm/160lbft to me?!

What's the spec and why haven't you mapped it properly?

The car had covered about 20 miles since putting it back together, bought the engine 2 1/2 yrs ago, also ran out of time as i had to get back to feed the cattle.... there's either a sticky valve or its a tapper so running it in, might have some head work done shortly aswell so wanted it running and usable, so once its had its shakedown and work its going in for a thorough cleanup Smile
Spec is Jenvey 45's 90mm trumpets Xsara vts lump 100cell sports cat & bespoke scorpion straight through centre section and backbox

Sounds more like they just want more money from you, engine should have been run in by the time the mapping was finished.

If its ticking then its probably a tapper, rare you get sticky lifters, but easy to diagnose, just poke them all with a blunt non metallic object, they shouldn't move too easily.

As for headwork, not worth the bother on these heads as they are so good as standard, if you want more you need to start from scratch with an XU7 head.

Haha not in tne slightest, known one of the lads for years, they own a business I pay for the time go back and finish the job when I have time, tidying up the fuelling is the main job that gonna be done, but as it was constantly lean/spiking it wasn't safe to use,
