I went to undo the gearbox level plug during a service and it started undoing but I noticed it wasn't coming out at all. When I went to do it back up again it never tightened which I'm guessing means the thread is stripped?

Anything I can do to save it?

You'll have to get it out and see what damage is done, slip a blade etc down the edge of the plug as you undo and apply pressure outwards should get it out.

I've seen a few with damaged plugs but none that have damaged the actual box so you may well be lucky. Either way I'd imagine you'll be able to repair it with a tap and find a plug off something else that will fit the recut thread.

I've got a spare plug on the shell so can take it from there.

I'll get the plug out and see what it's like. Hopefully can just fit a new plug and it'll be ok!
