Hello,

I have a spare engine and gearbox that I was intending on keeping and rebuilding etc, but they are taking up space and to be honest I could do with some pennies to spend on the car.

They were both removed from a phase 2 gti6 on just over 90k that I bought from a friend to raid parts from. There was an issue with the clutch and the release bearing but before that the box and engine were fine.

As they are now in my garden, I will be unable to provide proof of running, so this is reflected in the price.

Engine with no ancillaries £100
Will include head, block and sump and contains all engine internals. No coilpacks included

Gearbox £50
No rattles, crunches or whines.

I will check at the weekend which other parts I have, and update the thread with pictures if people are interested.

Tempted with the engine as colin taking awhile to sort one out for me.

Did you hear it running? Where as it been stored?

Sam,

I not only heard it running, but have been out in it a few times and also had a drive of it myself. Worked fine when I drove it, no suspect rattles and seemed to pull as it should.

It has been stood for some time outside. I have it bolted to an engine stand and wrapped up in plastic and taped up.

I have no history of the engine though, so I would only advise buying if you want to get a few things sorted. If I was to use it in my car, I was going to get it checked over, gaskets and cambelt replaced etc.

I may be interested in the gearbox with collection on Sunday if that's possible? One in the race car may be dead but won't know until Saturday

Great, thanks! Sorry about all the unknowns! Need to investigate the issue in the race car more then see if we can get the gearbox out of the spare car but if not, I'll be interested Smile
