but all the wall marking suggests that its right,

They are not directional but rotational (thinks thats right) they would only have inside and outside on the tyre wall to indicate fitment.

Ok, still don't look right to me, looking at the pattern it would seem that the passenger side is feeding the water away from the car as the drivers is feeding it towards.

I know they are on right, just looked strange to me.

The v groove or line should be as it is on the tyre ie on rotation the center should then work out to the edge.

your pics are correct for that side of the car as the water will be pushed from the middle out to the edge.
