Not much has been happening lately tbh. Had a few good washes, polish and waxes. Also decided to roll the arches as it scrubbed a bit sometimes. Got some 20mm spacers to give it a better stance too so I flared the arches a little...

Looks a bit odd but I'm hoping once it's all together, it will look like factory fitment.

Annoyingly, the wheel bolts supplied with the spacers are too long so I can't finish the job.

Just to keep this thread alive I’ll give a little update....

Nothing has happened really. Just swapped my pads for some DS2500’s and done a few laps at Brands.

Since the pics aren’t working now I will just list the jobs waiting to be done. I’ve been stock piling a few bits ready for when I have time/money to get it all sorted out.

• Battery relocation kit inc. fibreglass box
• Racetech oil temp gauge as is phase 1
• Fibreglass bonnet just needs wrapping and some better mounting points
• Lightened boot with plastic window
• New rear beam mounts
• VTS steering rack
• 16” pro race 1.2’s

Other plans are; LSD, coilovers, change the traction fluid in the charger and do a cambelt change at the end of the year.

Did my first successful trackday last week. The car performed very well. It really surprised me how well it held it’s own. Dan from Abbit motorsport was there. He jumped in with me for a few laps and gave me a few tips which was great. I now have the bug for more and the list of parts I want is getting bigger.

In true pug fashion, the car didn’t quite manage until the end. An hour before the end I smelled gearbox oil so pulled in to notice a huge leak from between the gearbox and block. So the next step is to investigate this before I can progress the car any further.

Good to meet you, sorry to hear about the car! It was good to do a few laps, I'm impressed by how much pull the low boosts have from so far down the rev range

Gearbox oil between engine and box can only be an input shaft seal. Will have contaminated the clutch I expect. That’s unlucky.

Only other thing could be a driveshaft seal that’s sprayed the whole area.

Track days are good fun. Easy to get the bug, make sure you get around and talk to people though and Get pax laps.

Thanks for the comments guys. When I get time I’ll try to get it down to Pete’s garage where he will hopefully inspect and repair whilst fitting some new goodies. I will update when jobs complete Smile

Hoping to get a flikr account soon so I can sort out some pics.

So we’re not 100% on the exact cause of the failure yet but after driving the car to Petes garage, it was clear that some internal damage was done as when we topped up the box, it came out the bottom just as fast with bits of metal so not good. Ryan got hold of a low mileage gearbox for me and sent it to Petes straight away so we could get on with the repairs. Before we swap boxes, Pete is replacing the fork bushes and the seals and fitting my new Quaife ATB diff. We have a new clutch and clutch cable ready to go on when we do the box swap too. Hopefully can fit my oil temp sensor while he’s down there Smile

We did have to remove the subframe as the boost pipes were in the way so rather than remove the front end, we felt this would be a better way to do it.

All fitted and had a 5 min drive. No leaks soo far. Right, lets book another track day! LOL
