hi all i was driving along approximately 2 miles in my xsi and car management light came on stuttered to a stop petrol light was on tried to turn over no success luckily was near a petrol station and put a drop of petrol in airbag light came on . car started fine and drove no problem .

thought it might have been the o2 sensor i put in the previous day as was from a peugeot 206 i think 1.4 but no car seems to running fine

first off is this normal and what are your thoughts

am petrol light was on and was on reserve lol dont want to burn out fuel pump rallye is still driving like a dream too (:

No reserve tank , it was low and ran out of fuel? You put fuel in drove OK, I'm struggling to see what your trying to say?

ok petrol light was on and cut out engine light came on and car would not start ,

yes about 5 litres thecar started up and on came the airbag light came on first time i ever had a problem with this car approx 105,000 miles and have owned it since march of last year

Separate issues. Check out the cables under the seats. Ones probably loose.

Check them out WITH THE BATTERY DISCONNECTED.

As for the cutting out issue, don't drive the car all the way down to the reserve.
