I've only had three 306's but the 2 Rallyes and GTi were fine.... so even though I see the evidence... I think it's made up

More progress got three coats of cherry red on today!!! Looks so much better than when I got it im happy with the outcome, now some lacquer then some dynax clear wax to finish.

then I can finally put my engine in,got uprated mounts coming too.

fitted the de-wiper bung last night...all good no problems, got to work car fine, came back after lunch rear window completely shattered!!??
Mate whos replacing the glass said the bung had caused the toughend glass to shatter, but I wouldnt of thought a rubber bung could be the cause??
Luckily got a spare boot with good glass so not major problem, just bit of a pain!!!

Pics of her cherryed up....

Great work, super job. I've used Etchweld on my Rallye and like it a lot. It sticks to steel really well.

Really nice neat welding too. That car will be better than new soon!

Yes!!!!!! Finally managed to get a good coat of lacquer and after it had cured a coat of bilt hamber dynax clear wax.
Let that cure for 2 days then unwrapped all the masking tape (pain in the arse, holds on well after a few days!!!)fixed all the wiring looms and horns, cleaned up the earthing points Etc.
then the fun part of squeezing the engine in without scratching that fresh paint work........done it with a little help from my old man and a trolly jack!! Thanks dad!

Got alot done tho just got to put quite a few bits on and also swap suspension and stuff.
do the rear brakes and shocks on also slam panel rad and bits, pro race 1.2s,4" magnex etc etc.

should be running by the weekend hopefully, got busy day tomorrow so il try get as much done as possible!!

Maybe it would loook better (to me ;-)) in a Phase 1 or something a little more early 90's, i don't think it blends as well as the OE item. Saying that it's a lot better than some of the aftermerket stuff i have seen Yes Thumbs up

I put a bung in my rear...err window for a couple of months and it didn't break. I've heard of a few breaking though - maybe I was lucky.

Is it a P2 (seal sits proud of the glass) or P3 (no visible seal) rear hatch?
