Now the Michelin PE2's are discontinued whats the best tire to go for now in this size? Not worried to much about cost but I would like something similar in performance to the PE'2s.

Ive been looking at Dunlop Sport Bluresponse are these any good?

Any input welcomeThumbs up

I got some Dunlop SP Sports which are good. The BluResponse was not out in this size when I got mine in May 13, but the tyre guy (whose opinion I trust) said they were already gaining an excellent reputation and would have recommended them if available.

Another vote for the Dunlops. I've got the SP Sport Fast Response and the grip is excellent in the dry and wet. Seem to be wearing fine too.

Think mine were about £325 fitted for all 4 through Blackcircles.

I'll be the forum guinea pig then and try these new bluresponse tyres. Will try and order some at my local garage later.

Right, got some of these Dunlop Sport BluResponse tyres put on the front today. Heres what they look like...

First impressions are that this is a very good tyre. Paid £75 per tyre at my local garage for these.

Compared to the PE2's that came off, there seems to be less rolling resistance with this tyre. Not only that but they seem to be very slightly quiter as well althought the Michelins were down on theyre wear marker. Also the steering feels far more precise at the front with these than with the PE2's and its confidence inspiring in corners.

Grip wise which is the important bit I have to say these seem very very good. Went for a brief spin and fortunetly encountered both dry and wet tarmac on my drive and they grip very well on both. Its difficult to say which has the best grip yet because these are no where near worn in but to be honest if I get the amount of grip im predicting these are going to be very very close to the PE2's and dare I say it maybe even a little betterWhistle

At the moment though very very happy with these.Thumbs up

These results similar to tests and reviews out there. I am ordering 2 of these on Monday for the wife's Mk2 Focus.

Any updates on the tyres boys and girls? What are your opinions after a bit of use? Unsure

I used Avon ZV5's on the Rallye when I had it. Never had any complaints in the dry or wet, just gave me drip all the time. Never had a scary moment unlike the last tyre I had on...

The BluResponse tyres for the Focus were not available so ended up with SP Sport Fast Response just like on my Ralye (although different size). The Dunlops make the steering a little heavier compared to the Goodyear NCT5 on the Focus before, and it feels really planted and grippy, just like the Rallye. Steering feel is good, nd the car changes direction with alacrity. Good for driving along narrowish B-roads not much wider than the car, camber changes etc. Before the Rallye I hadn't gone for Dunlops before as I wanted something a little more…sporty and exotic maybe, and thought they were too pedestrian. But I am very impressed. Just wish the BluResponse had been available. Looks as though it is living up to the reviews.

Yeah the bluresponse are nicely worn in now. They really are superb. Michelin stopped making the PE2? Couldn't care less these are the dogs dangly bits.

The PE2 range was combined with the PS3 range. The same tyre basically just the PE2s were for smaller wheels.
