Unfortunately the head-gasket went.... and one of the bores is marked.

In the last 300 miles the car has had

RichW Flywheel & New Valeo Clutch kit fitted
New Clutch cable
New flywheel bolts
New Clutch fork bearings
New BV Gearbox oil
New Gearbox/Driveshaft seals
New Gearbox end crank seal
Brand new drive shafts fitted, the old boots were cracked and the abs rings were badly destorted
New genuine Gearbox Mount
BakerBM Lower engine mount

The car also has
RichW front roller bearing bushes.
Miles Solid rear beam mounts.
Miles solid gear linkages (july '13)
Ash'a hybrid anti roll bar in the rear.
Front strut brace painted black.
Lowered on Eibachs springs on the front. -30mm
Rear lowered to suit. Stainless Braided flexi-brake lines all round.
K&N induction kit,
Nissens Rad.
Falken ze912's all round with loads of tread left.
Tailored GTi--6 mats including boot.
Team Heko wind deflectors

Dude you would do a lot better than £750 there if you broke the car for parts. Id take the flywheel depending on price!

About £1000 if you include labour charges and it's done properly.

Difficult to say really. If the head is warped, you would probably be looking at the best part of £250 for parts and a skim if you do the work your self. At a garage, you can double that.
Also depends how bad this bore damage is. You might get away with not doing anything about it but if its properly damaged, you mighty as well buy a new engine which fitted and filled with fluids will probably be £400 if you do the work your self.

Unless you find a decent 2nd hand engine and drop it in yourself. Probably the cheapest option but then you have the chance of getting a tapper or an engine that hasnt bee very well looked after.

Yeah but you also need to know how bad this bore mark is. If its liveable then crack on but if not, new engine time.
