seems a lot of people sell the kits or cars these days. Are they not reliable, or do people just get bored of the extra power?

Mine will be going in a 205 if I decide against going down the ITB route, so should be plenty quick enough

True! I never saw the point in modifying cars, but my 205 is mint and I doubt I'll ever sell her. So I don't mind spunking some cash on her now and again.

Yup I'd pretty much agree with that. However I still quite like the fact people dont expect it to be nearly as quick as what it is. They see a little old French piece of s**t in there mirror and think "haha watch me p**s all over this...." Then when the opposite happens the look on their face is absolutely priceless LOL

What were you looking to spend on a LB kit. I've spent a while rebuilding my S/C six and am going to put it through MOT in the next month or 2 (funds depending) so depending on whether it passes or fails I may break it. Ideally I'd want to sell charger kit and engine which was rebuilt my Rich Walker with uprated tin lead bearings, MLS uprated Head Gasket and top end rebuild and new cam belt and tensioners etc. Cost me a shade under a grand to have done.

Edit:
Engine also has RichW lightened flywheel and solid crank pulley.

pm'd Jim.

Yes DCC - ouch! Dented cage, sheared bolt in eccentric top mount, f**ked 205 beam rather than 309 beam as described, bent C5 wheel, no alloy crank pulley. And that was just from a quick look over.

TBH, Carl did advise that he doesn't know the in's and out's of the car and that he recommended I come and have a look around it. However, he knew I would be travelling 90 mins with a trailer, and has sold plenty of cars before and knew my intentions to break it, so one would have thought he would have had a good look around and not gone on what he was told from the last seller!

Don't mind with a complete engine, but I suspect yours may be a bit beyond my budget as your BHP figures suggest it's some kind of LB/HB hybrid.

Let me know of course.
Thanks

I agree, but unfortunately my budget is lower than that as I also need to factor in a bespoke 2.5" exhaust too.

What is your budget out of interest? And what does it need to include?

The general consensus is that used LB kits are worth around 1500-1700, plus say another 2-300 if coming with an engine. So basically around that figure.

I would be inclined to pay slightly more if someone felt their kit was worth it for what ever reason. However, as it will be going on a 205, I will need to pay for a different intercooler, pipework and inlet shortening, so hence my reluctance to pay over the odds.

Why, you interested in selling???

Oh, and it needs to include everything bar the pipework, and potentially the intercooler, but I would still like any hoses and clips as they would still be usable for fitting to my engine.
