^ Sounds like my 182, although the steering was actually pretty good from memory.

I also forgot, as John pointed out that the engine doesn't sound great and the double-decker bus sized steering wheel that melts.

Only had mine 3 months before the diff started getting noisy so I got rid.

I think the engines sound quite good with an enclosed Viper filter on. Just goes to show how we all have a seperate opinion.

Ive had all four gti6/rallye/ep3/clio 172 and personaly I enjoyed all of them and to be fair my 6 had a beter spec than the rallye and I could notice it straight away , all depends on what you want to do with each one as there all got good/bad points about them .... Just suck it and see thats the best advice as your feel of a car would be diffrent to some one elses

I like my friend's 182 as it's got climate control, xenons and cruise control etc., gets better MPG and despite being a bit smaller inside than a 306 it is overall a nice place to sit. I've never driven it but his with good tyres and cup suspension certainly feels like it handles well as a passenger.

Having said all of this, I probably wouldn't spend more money than you could to get a good 306 on one if it didn't have all the nice kit in it as a major advantage of it in my eyes is hot hatch fun with nice comfort features.

I've not long had my Rallye tbh, but I absolutely love it! The sound of it, way it handles, driving position, and just the fact every time I drive it, it puts a big smile on my face. I had an Audi Coupe 2.0 16v on a '93 before this, which was a lovely looking car, fabulous build quality, comfort etc, but it was boring to drive. My Rallye is like driving a go-kart, its just great. For what its worth, I'd save and 'cam it'. These little Pugs are (in my opinion) quite a bit of kit for the money, they are fast, handle well and look the dogs, and how many do you see now - not many. At the end of the day its your choice and your money, good luck with what ever you decide Thumbs up

Always the same when you haven't had something long.

I'm unsure how long Alek has owned the Rallye, but I can't blame him for thinking it's perhaps time for something different. We often get comfortable.

If you have the cash and space - perhaps buy something else and put the Rallye to one side for the winter. Come Summer you could see whether the grass was longreener

I had a scooby and now have a highboost. the scooby was fun but tbh the running costs are far higher than a 6 even a supercharged one.
I would say sell if you want a change but I'd say keep if you're going to go for another fwd unless it's turbo most of the other fwd ive driven and owned don't match the 6 for character but I'm probably biased nowYes

    LOL

Running costs not really a problem. My commute is too short to worry

Goes to show how different opinions are. Personally I've had several turbo cars now and always find the power delivery boring.

had a few turbo cars, mr2 turbo, saab 9000 aero, escort rs turbo, I like the big hit of torque but its not like hitting the high screaming revs of N/A.
wouldn't mind another turbo , Scooby, leon cupa r. or N/A ep3 see what comes up if/when the rallye sells
