Just wondered if there was a particular electric power steering pump which people tend to use on the 306?

I've had a look on ebay at 106 ones, the 1.5 diesel one looks to have the reservoir on the end of a hose like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181279348760?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

Whereas others look to have it incorporated on the pump like this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-106-ELECTRIC-POWER-STEERING-PUMP-1996-2004-FREE-DELIVERY-/261341023936?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3cd9238ec0
I'm sure i've seen this style used a couple of times on other 306's but wondered why i hadn't seen the diesel style one before.

Any advice welcomed, i'm ditching my pas pump to make space for something else, so will be putting the standard alternator back on to cope with the extra current draw. Shifty

iirc the one with the plastic tube is from a saxo.

The one with the hose is from a 106.

I could be wrong, it may be earlier or later rather than saxo or 106.

I would personally use the one with the hose as you can at least make the hose longer or shorter as you would be retro fitting it.

Im using the one with the remote reservoir, rather than the one that is part of the main body.

My only reason is, that if I were to mount the pump down low, I can still make sure that the reservoir is in a more easily accessible place to fill up if need be.

I doubt it, but to be honest most of the SC boys including myself run a standard pump without the cooler anyway.
