Just picked the wheels from the powder coaters: £60. I'm going to 2k clear coat them myself as I can get a better less-orange peely finish.

Sorry bud, not got any for sale for now. (I'm turning into a wheel hoarder)

Cheers guys. The new clutch and fork bushes have completely transformed the car. The clutch is lighter than the 15' plate van I use for work.

I'm sure those actually might be some 15" lions from wheel mania and not bored out cyclones in your pic.

If so cracking find! Thumbs up

I wish (or maybe I don't going by quality issues of Lions) but these have "Speedline" printed on the inside edge.

Cracked on with the wheels this morning. Scotched the powdercoat finish and gave them all a couple coats of fine wheel silver basecoat then a couple coats of 2k clear:

Will be ordering a couple tyres and get them all whacked on.

Had to spend a few hours on filing the holes as they're were a couple mill' out when we tried to balance them first time round. All good now though.
Rainsports on the front and my old R1Rs on the rear:

Ordered some miles linkages to go on next week as well.

Cheers!

Well a year later and not too much has changed:

Little bit of an update.

I managed to get hold of a Scorpion backbox off Ebay for £40 a while ago (from Turbo-Technics) so fitted that, albeit slightly off centre:

Then if you hadn't realised before, I've never really posted pictures of the passenger side of the car. This is for one reason, The mismatch-off-colour door;

I couldn't stand it anymore so managed to find a great body repair/sprayer in Hunslet (PM me if you Leeds/Yorkshire folk want his details. His unit is the tidiest and cleanest bodyshop I've ever seen) I asked for the full side and the roof to be repaired and painted. He even sends 'during' photos:

(poor finished picture by me)

Before I sent it to the bodyshop I put my winter steelies on so I could respray my wheels at home. Mixed a bit of black and silver basecoat to make a light grey colour then a couple coats of 2k clear:

Those tyres with overspray on are getting changed anyway so my masking wasn't that neat.

Then had a royal cock-up after I'd changed the spark plugs. I went on to test drive and 2 miles down the road and I was on 3 cylinders with an engine light on...removed the plugs and coil packs to see this:

Removed the wire sleeving and I'm guessing I disturbed the wiring and it touched and shorted out frying the coil pack:

£50-60 later for a Bremi coil pack and a month later and it's still going.

I've got a week off and bought some basecoat to respray and blend the front bumper to match the new paint.

And that's about it. Also, a thanks to Gnrlee for offering to help out when I was on the look out for a coil pack to try out at 6pm.

They're just standard cyclones but with the centres machined out. No cracking or anything so far so they're pretty safe (I hope).

When I had normal cyclones everywhere was wanting £20 per wheel to balance!

Not a problem now though, me and 2 other mates went 3rds on a tyre machine and balancer. So that's me never paying for fitting and balancing anymore. Woop!

Managed to do a bit of painting a couple weeks ago. Resprayed the bumper, grille, hockey sticks and wing mirror caps:

Also had a bit of 'shrinkage' from the respray so decided to wet sand and polish it back up:

(can just make out where the paint has sunk into sanding marks etc)

Bought some more cossack grey (which seems a better bloody match than the painter used) so will try blend the wing better so it matches the bonnet edge to edge.

Next up, cam belt in the next month or so.

Well the heater matrix started failing i.e steam through the vents, coolant leaking in passenger footwell etc. Dropped it off at Carwurx and he got busy:

Other than that...still going strong as the daily.
