I have had a problem today with the blower on the car. It has stopped working. In addition to this I have rigged the A/C button to control the cooling fans, this has also stopped working.

The lights for both the buttons A/C and Recirculating now no longer come on and the fan cannot be turned on.

I have been looking about and it would appear to point to a fuse No 21, but my car is a phase 3 and I do not have this fuse. The closest one I can see would be No 20 on a PH3, but my car does not have this fuse in (like the picture in the FAQ).

Does anyone have any suggestions on starting points? Am I missing a fuse somewhere? I did check all the fuses last night when it happened, but they all looked ok (it was dark though).

Obviously in this colder wetter weather I would like to get this working ASAP, but am not sure the best way to start, as the only threads I can see either haven't been answered, or seem to point to the Diode in the A/C control panel, but I have no idea yet how to get to it.

Help would be appreciated!

Matt

i'm going to go with one of the green relays being burnt out as i've had this a few times exactly and it's always been the relay melting

Ahh ok Thanks. Which relays are they? The ones in the fuse compartment under the steering wheel?

yep they're the ones. just try swapping them for a known working one or swap them over temporarily as i think there's a couple of matching ones. i don't know which is which though, but worth a try anyway

just test the relay, 15 seconds job LOL

if it takes more than 1.85 seconds to pull the relay out, it's stuck in place and burned out

they do that commonly

failing that send 12v direct to motor and see what happens

Rikky, you would win a prize if there was one! (currently only 1 burnt out relay)

Just after I posted, I went out to the car and whipped out the 2nd green relay in the fuse box and it was burnt just like that one Rikky. Swapped it with the one to the left of it and it works!! (at the current expense of the electric windows and I haven't noticed what else LOL)

Just need to get another relay or two and fingers crossed it will not do it again for some time (hopefully).

Thanks everyone
