So another year has passed and the 6 is another year older. Yesterday she had her MOT and I'm happy to report she went straight through without any adviseries.

I absolutely hate MOT time and i get so damn nervous! I'm glad it's only once a year, so I'm very happy there were no dramas. As far as i can see from its history it's only ever had 1 fail for bulbs.

Onwards with happy motoring Smile

Thanks Stan. It's sad i know but as cars get older i get more worried about MOT time. Whilst i remember that whistle i had was the centre silencer it was empty and had no baffle left inside it at all LOL

She's a pampered car, can't ever see her letting you down mot time, not majorly anyway!

The Hdi just had £250 spent on a new coolant housing cos mine was p**sing coolant everywhere!

Damn economical in comparison to the 6 though, my bank account doesn't leak money half as much now.

Unfortunately, as these cars get older and get used daily etc they will start to cause issues. Luckily, as you keep on top of yours it looks after you. Smile

Whenever I buy a 10 year old plus Peugeot, I'm already prepared to throw a ruck of money at it.

You know by the time you have replaced/ refreshed worn parts, that the car shouldn't need any money spending on it in a few years.

Look at my 405 resto. A 20 year old car, but now in a condition that will surprise many an mot tester Smug

Its nothing to do with the age of a car. Just how its maintained. And that applies to newer cars too. A 3-4 year old car if not maintained could be dodgy as fook. The main reason a lot of the 6's on here have issues is probably caused by lack of maintenance I sure.

You certainly have to replace more parts due to the condition of the roads that's for sure!!!

But yes I agree a well maintained car that's of age can be in much more of a road worthy state than a new car if it's un cared for. The main thing for me is that I can't afford a 2nd car so i have to look after this one with extra care. I've covered nearly 70k in it and to be fair it's been pretty good to me. Just the usual parts have needed replacing.
