Hi

Has anyone tried to make a speedo correction by changing the drive gera to a different number of teeth?

eg going from 19 to 20 teeth will slow down the speedometer by 19-20 / 20 x100 = 5%

Seeing as pug speedos over read anyway and fitting 50 profile tyres makes it worse, this could be a good mod.

The question is, which Pug has the right drive gears???????????????????????????????????????????????

Remember you'd also need to change the gear inside the speedometer drive housing that is driven off the diff. The size and offset of the teeth need to match on both of the gears.

The number of teeth on its own is only part of the answer.

Rich. I agree that the ratio is a function of both pinion and skew gear. On the Pug 106 the same skew gear was used to drive the two option pinions.

Nick. Speedo on my 306 D is already reading 82 at 70 - one heck of a margin! Smile
I'm just about to put 50s on my Rallye so considering options.

So far by asking sellers on ebay I have found:

Red 17 teeth
White 20 teeth

Anyone know what the standard black(?) one has?
