Hi guys.

My missus has just brought the above named car and there seems to be a problem with the passenger seat it has no function at all. First thing i checked was the fuse and to no surprise it had blown (30 amp).

Anyhow i replaced the said fuse and the seat worked for a few mins then the fuse blew again without even operating the seat at the time the fuse blew. Tried another one didn't touch any buttons on the seat and it went bang again.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this? I'm not too clued up on beemers.

Many thanks Matt.

Sounds like a break in the wire somewhere and it's shorting out against bodywork?

Sounds possible. And it looks like a right ballache to access to! If wiring is at fault I don't really fancy it as the wires look impossible to access!

I've had a brief look and the threads i found were the back and forth movement doesn't work but the rest of the seat does.

Plus you guys are knowledgeable.

If you can disconnect the heated part 1st from under the seat, then put the fuse back in. If the fuse does not pop, then its a heater problem which is more common than the seat motor wiring.

If it does still pop.......Get the multimeter out and start swearing Smile

I think the heater is seperate as it still works even though the seat doesn't.
