After a few cars since my last 6 (highlight of which being a premier edition CTR) House purchase means unfortunately I'm back on here with 306 number 7......not even a GTI-6 but a lowly HDI.

I'm also trying to shift the my current ride - a delightful MR2.

There is a thread already on the site about it already but just to give it a little extra exposure

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=161107374385

Certainly seems a lot quieter round here than when I left!

Pete my old one that Rachael and Aaron now have did much better mpg after a remap as well as went like stink..... It pays for itself after a while and makes the car much more drivable through the rev range. Will get he estate done soon but as I'm changing my low boost cooler setup for a high boost I plan to use the low boost cooler on the estate and map it to 150bhp 280lbft lol

Thanks dude, I've had 5703 views and now have 203 watchers, so I'm hoping she makes a pretty penny.

RE: remapping, this is something I'm considering but is it worth the hassle? Its never going to set the tyres on fire is it?

Turns it from a gutless hard work slow-mobile to a nice drivable car. Deoends who wrote the map though as to how well it goes. Also got 55mpg regularly from my last one and did 16.9 sec 1/4 mile which was a lot quicker than quite a few petrol cars that day lol.

Been thinking about this last couple of days. What are the rough costs? I'm not normally a minge back but I dont want to spend too much on what is effectively a consumable vehicle.

Gave it a wash at the weekend and took a few pics, also got a cheap 6 interior and put that in as my drivers seat had the usual hole in it.

It was the first time I'd seen a 3 door D-Turbo in cherry red and its lowish mileage for a HDI (110k)

Found out the back box has got a split in it, so I've ordered a new one along with all the bits to give it a full service at the weekend. The front bumper looks to have sagged in the middle so I'm going to see if i can that to fit a bit better too.

Not exactly a barrel of laughs to drive but my god is it economical, have done just over 300 miles now and still got just over half a tank left so I'm getting twice as many miles to a tank as I did in the MR2 / CTR.

Planning to keep this some time as I'm trying to find my first house at the moment.

Have to admit I'm a massive Honda fanboy now after having a the EP3 and find myself looking at DC5's on the internet daily so not sure how long the house deposit is going to last LOL

Welcome back, fellow HDi owner Thumbs up

Looks very nice that, doesn't look to have faded at all?
I may replace mine with a GTi6 interior if one fairly local comes up for a decent price but as the seats were replaced before I bought her I'm not worried.

Cheers. It has faded slightly and the bonnet / bumper have had paint before as they are brighter.

Its pretty good for its age though and looks much better than a lot of cherry 306's I've seen before.

Wondering if its worth giving it a going over with the machine polisher, see if I can get it a bit better.

Where do you people find these HDIs?!

I always wonder this when I log on the forum, someone has a new car and I have no idea where they found it!

I just use the usual sites, Autotrader, Pistonheads, Ebay, Gumtree......

Lovely HDI though, needs silver clones imo

This one was on pistonheads. The advert was a bit s**t and it was stickered up like a rallye when I bought it Doh but after chatting to the bloke I had it off it seemed genuine enough.

Agreed on the alloys.

I think it looks great as it is. Seen one of these parked up near Amesbury. Is this a late car with teh more tuneable engine? If I ever needed a commutermobile and needed to save the Rallye this is what I would get.

Thanks.

Its a '99 so is an early HDI. Thought these engines were all the same though?
