If rikky used a capital letter in his location I'm sure it would see more posters.

Not being funny but a lot of members haven't 're joined due to Stan the ban man, this place used to be lively but it's dead now! No banter no members, it's got nothing to do with the price drop, the recession or what ever you want to blame it on

I'm not the only Admin here you know...Roll eyes

I only act on what I (along with other members of the team) feel is in the best interest of the forum. If people take umbrage at that then it's probably best that they're not here anyway.

I appreciate that however we have lost a few members that were very knowledgeable and sometimes only sometimes were very helpfull, even you have to admit the forum is becoming less active!

To be fair, Stan is one of the more down to earth members on here who's retained a personality. You can push him a fair way before he gets the hammer out. He genuinely wanted to improve the forum and has done a lot to pass peoples views on to Ash for consideration.

It's just a shame Stan is effectively the face of the enforcement when it was Ash who made the decisions and changes.

Agreed, I have nothing against Stan personally and have never been in the sin bin myself, just a few members views that I have spoken to via Facebook

Could not agree more Thumbs up

There is always people that will push the rules or step way out of line. The one person that pulls them up on it end up being hated, when really there just trying to right by all.

We all moaned about having more active admin due to trolls and we got what we asked for. Then when our own members started acting like trolls and got punished, there were tears and blame.

    You can't please everyone No

    Bring back welshpug tbh.

Nobody left here who can memorise partnumbers as well as him

I think there should be a subforum for unpaid members to come chat. Maybe make it free to post in the new 'banter' subforum, which is imminently due creation.

How likely do you think the chance of any of the above is going to happen? Dunno

I think you are right, the main forum should be free but then the buy and sell sections should be for paid members. Means you pay a fiver to get some bargains but the banter and advice is still here.
    Just saying...

That's what it was like when subscriptions were first introduced in September 2011. It changed to a subscription only forum in April 2012 so Ash must have thought it was necessary to make the change - for a reason I'm sure someone can quote for clarity.

    Dan is correct.

However, the reason it was changed was simple. People were abusing the free sections and not using the paid sections. For example, the General section used to be free to use, but the technical sections were not.

Therefore a lot of people started posting technical questions in the General section to get them answered for free. It was felt that the only way of successfully combatting this behaviour was to make the entire forum usage subscription use only.
