Random question, my quick search of the net didn't really bring up much. Apart from the look of and the vvt obviously, what's the different between the normal Peugeot v6 engine and the v6 vvt engine?

Sure does thanks. Assume most use the earlier one in a 306 due to it being cheaper to buy.

I think its mostly because the Porsche derived one is Mulitplexed so is difficult/impossible to set up properly in a 306.....not sure exactly

Edit; I may have just made that up, its been a long day LOL

Its MORE expensive to setup as you need aftermarket ECU and then mapping (so say, £1000 more!)

Also the later engine has 4 cats which are more restrictive. People who have removed all 4 have experienced difficulties getting the engine to run correctly.

Its got more Power and Torque though, all be it higher up the rev range.

Sums it up pretty well. You bought your conversion off my mate the other day I think, did it come from Richard aka pugplus?
